Vegetarian Mee Hoon with Mushroom Gravy

Vegetarian Mee Hoon with mushrooms gravy
Should try this Mee Hoon with mushrooms gravy
I prefer this gray than the usual thick gravy, you may make gravy thicker by adding corn starch.


Ingredients:

1. Mee Hoon  x 130g
2. Golden Mushrooms  x 150g (pre-cut)
3. Button Mushrooms x 60g  (pre-cut)
4. Cucumber x 100g (pre-cut into strips)
5. Carrot x 20g (pre-cut into strips)
6. Water x 1250ml
7. Vegetarian oyster sauce x 1 tbsp
8. Soya sauce x 1/2 tbsp
9. chilli sauce x 1/2 tbsp


Procedure:

A.  Prepare the mee hoon
      1. Boil the 750ml of water in a pot
      2. Put the mee hoon into the pot
      3. Turn off the stove & drain the water away when the mee hoon has softened
      4. Place in a bowl for the mushrooms gravy

B   Prepare the mushrooms gravy
     1. Boil the 500ml of water in a pot
     2. Add vegetarian oyster sauce, soya sauce & chilli sauce into the boiling water
     3. Add golden mushrooms into the pot
     4. Add  button mushrooms & cook altogether
     5. Cook for about 10 mins & turn off the stove

C  Combine the mee hoon & mushrooms gravy
     1. Pour the mushrooms gravy into the bowl of mee hoon
     2. Add cucumber and carrot and mix well
     2. Food is ready to serve

Preparation time for cooking: 45 mins

Serving: 2 pax

Vegetarian Fried Mee Hoon in Rice-cooker

Fried Mee Hoon in Rice-cooker
This is a vegetarian dish, very nice & tasty


Ingredients:

1. Mee hoon  x 150g
2. Mixed vegetables: carrots, corn, pea  x 50g (pre-cut)
3. Button mushrooms x 200g  (pre-cut)
4. Tomato x 50g (pre-cut)
5. Water x 300ml
6. Soya sauce x 1/2 tbsp
7. Vegetarian oyster sauce x 1 tbsp
8. Sesame oil x 1 tsp

Procedure:
1. Boil 300ml of water in a rice-cooker
2. Add vegetarian oyster sauce, soya sauce
3. Add mixed vegetables, button mushrooms into the rice-cooker & cook for about 5 mins
4. Add mee hoon into the rice-cooker & cook for about 3 mins
5. Add tomatos into the rice-cooker and stir the ingredients together
6. Cook for another 2 mins
7. Turn-off the rice-cooker power & leave it for at least 5mins
8. Add in the sesame oil before serving

note:
when opening the rice-cooker cover, avoid any water from dripping onto the heating plate
